Keep Cool in the Chicago Heat

No matter how many times you tell yourself you won’t splurge for another super sweet, trendy dessert at a Chicago restaurant, you know nothing keeps you cool like ice cream and frosé. Here are the city’s best places to pick up some icy treats on the hottest days.

Aside from excellent tacos, appetizers, and sides, you have to save a little room for the Horchata Milkshake. Made with vanilla ice cream, banana, horchata, whipped cream, and cinnamon sugar, this shake is what dreams are made of. 1360 N Milwaukee, 1000 W 35th St, 125 South Clark St

Eataly
We’ve all wandered the aisles of Eataly for expensive pasta and accompanying sauces, or grabbed a dinner or two in one of the many restaurants. But drop by the Cannoli Bar on the first floor and pick up a glass of frosé before you spend your weekly grocery budget on crepes and noodles. 43 E Ohio St, First Floor

Scooter’s Frozen Custard
You might hear “custard” and think Culver’s, but Scooter’s wins by a long shot. This little shop is always packed in the evenings, and friendly teenagers are always willing to give you suggestions from their arsenal of excellent frozen treats. We recommend the Peanut Butter & Jelly, which includes vanilla custard blended with Scooter’s peanut butter and
black raspberry… it’s like childhood in a cup.
