Sundays on State Street on July 11th, 18th and 25th 

On chosen Sundays this month, from Madison to Lake, the iconic State Street will be closed to traffic and filled with more than 70 vendors and full of surprises for you, your friends, and your family. Sundays on State is a project of Chicago Loop Alliance in partnership with Chicago Loop Alliance Foundation, City of Chicago, and SSA#1-2015 in an effort to bring every Chicago community together while safely enjoying art, culture, food, drinks, active recreation, local attractions, and shopping. 

Movies in the Park all month 

Movies in the Park return! The Chicago Park District invites you to join them in person at the parks for an unforgettable outdoor cinema experience. From the Golden Age of Hollywood and local films to box office and childhood favorites, this summer’s movie lineup is bound to please everyone. Wicker Park Fest July 23rd-25th 

You can’t miss out on Chicago’s best street festival of the summer. With indie rockers Archers of Loaf and local hip-hop emcee Ric Wilson headlining, it’s no surprise this highly anticipated festival attracts visitors from across Chicagoland and the country. Wicker Park fest is known to be a true celebration of the neighborhood’s rich musical heritage, unique character, and vibrant nightlife. Come along!

Chinatown Summer Fair July 31st -August 1st

Celebrate summer with Chinatown’s iconic and historical celebration of Far East beauty. You’ll be mesmerized by the festival’s traditional dragon and lion dance procession opening; you’ll witness some impressive Kung Fu demonstrations and taste some delicious authentic Chinese cuisine. The perfect family outing! 

Lolapalooza July 29th – August 1st 

The famous Lollapalooza is back at full capacity, welcoming 100 000 attendees to Grant Park. Prepare yourself for four days of hand waving, head nodding, and crowds howling with some of the biggest names in the pop industry. There are 8 stages and more than 170 bands with none other than Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, the Foo Fighters, Journey, Brockhampton, Steve Aoki, and Limp Bizkit headlining the event. Act fast as the 4-day tickets have already sold out. 

 

Sunday picnics at the plaza at Lincoln Common July 18th-25th 

If you want to dial down on the crazy festivals, we recommend Lincoln Common’s “Picnics on the Plaza” for a laid-back Sunday. Enjoy the live music and the wide selection of menus from Velvet Taco, Verve Wine, or Casati’s Modern Italian. Buy your tickets here

 

Hideout’s Comedy Showcase July 14th – 28th 

Enjoy an evening filled with laughter, fresh talent, mingling, DJ tunes, and more at Hideout’s comedy showcase this summer. Proof of vaccination is required. 

 

Chicago Soul Jazz Collective July 11th – July 25th 

A group of Chicago’s local musicians is coming together to offer you some soulful jazz arrangements on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 3pm. What a way to close out your weekend!
