Cats call for coffee.

Buzz began around Chicago’s first feline-friendly café back last summer and has only continued to grow. Most recent rumors say Tree House Humane Society’s Cat Café plans to open its Rogers Park doors sometime this summer. Not only can you grab a cup of charitable joe but you can hang with your prospective animal adoptees.

The multifunctional space will feature floor to ceiling windows adjacent to where the rescued cats can slink and screen potential owners. A share of the café’s earnings will support rehab for the fuzzy inhabitants. Signs point to Grounds and Hounds as drink providers. These veteran altruists are already donating 20% of their proceeds to rescuing “four-legged friends”.

This year’s addition to a continuing public art project, Mile of Murals, is for the birds. 14,000 square feet of painted works will highlight endangered flyers and hand-picked Chicago talents. Take a leisurely stroll through the Glenwood Avenue Arts District, and sip on some visual neighborhood wonder.

Browse a menu of “springtime sippers” for the latest of seasonally-swapped cocktails or bar favorites like The Alchemist (Rebel Yell Small Batch Rye Whiskey, Benedictine, honey, Barkeep Vanilla Bitters, Woodford Reserve Spiced Cherry Bitters). A medley of top-notch ingredients, craft beers, board games and welcoming vibes make Roger’s Park Social the place for happy hours or moody nightcaps. Head on over Monday through Friday from 3 PM–2 AM, Saturday from 12 PM-3 AM, or Sunday from 11 AM-2 AM.
