While the words ‘downtown’ and ‘dog’ may not traditionally mix, Chicago’s vibrant and diverse spread of condos offers plenty of amazing options for pet parents who love the city. Learn more about these options and the amenities each has to offer below.

NEMA

NEMA is a newer but already popular building in Chicago’s downtown core. Completed in 2019, it’s just the latest project by renowned developer McHugh Construction, which has had a hand in constructing a number of other iconic residential projects both throughout the city and across the country. This NEMA apartment tower stands 76 stories tall and comprises more than 700 units. Over 70,000 square feet of amenities await residents and those lucky enough to know one. There’s a 75-foot indoor lap pool overlooking the skyline, saunas, steam rooms, a fitness center, a state-of-the-art golf simulator, and even a Pilates studio with regular fitness classes. Did we mention there is also a basketball court? Further, Fido will love the Doghouse – a unique space no other condo owner in the city has. 1000 South Clark

Chicago’s beautiful Clark Street is known for some pretty fantastic apartment towers and the one at 1000 S. Clark is no exception. It’s a perfect example of how to do things right – here, pets aren’t restricted or frowned upon but rather accepted with open arms. The on-site management team is unusually understanding of 4-legged roommates, which makes trips through the lobby a lot less stressful. Even better, there’s an abundance of green space outside to sniff through, as well as several parks within walking distance too.

Residences at Addison and Clark

The upscale Residences at Addison and Clark are hard to get for a reason. This downtown Chicago condo complex embodies the very best of city life both inside and out. Units are rather spacious considering the location, ranging between 501 and 1409 square feet in size.
