Let’s get real: pumpkin patches can be expensive. Here’s a few free things you can do in and around Chicago this autumn!

Oaktoberfest, Downtown Oak Park
September 20th – 21st

Though not technically Chicago… Downtown Oak Park is always fun when there’s a festival happening. With seasonal craft beer and food, plus live music, Oaktoberfest will definitely be a blast.

Fall Fest at Lincoln Park Zoo
Fridays through Sundays, September 27th – October 27th

Pick your pumpkin. Check out the corn maze (or corn pool). Go on the Ferris wheel. You can still visit with animals, too!

Pier Pumpkin Lights
October 1st – November 2nd

Every photo opportunity possible for fall! Jack o’lantern towers, spooky light displays, and more will be all along the famous Navy Pier on the lakefront.

Open Year-Round

46 acres of trails, wildlife, and nature to explore. North Park Nature Center/Preserve is a beautiful place to spend a fall day, especially while the leaves change.
